rights in all its operations and supply chains. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern
slavery and human trafficking, and we are dedicated to preventing these abhorrent practices
in any form.
Policy Scope
This policy applies to all Hiveway employees, officers, directors, contractors, suppliers, and
any other parties acting on our behalf. It covers all our business activities, both within
Canada and internationally.
Definitions
Modern Slavery: Encompasses slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labor,
and human trafficking. It refers to situations where individuals are exploited by others, often through violence, deception, or coercion, and are unable to refuse or leave because of threats, violence, coercion, abuse of power, or deception.
Human Trafficking: Involves the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring,
or receipt of persons by means of threat, force, coercion, abduction, fraud,
deception, abuse of power, or vulnerability, or giving payments or benefits to
achieve the consent of a person having control over another person for
exploitation.
Our Commitments
- Compliance with Laws: Hiveway will comply with all applicable laws and
regulations regarding modern slavery and human trafficking in Canada and in
every country where we operate. This includes, but is not limited to, the Criminal
Code of Canada and any provincial legislation. - Due Diligence: We will conduct due diligence on our supply chains to identify and assess potential risks of modern slavery and human trafficking. This may include:
- Evaluating suppliers' policies and practices.
- Conducting site visits and audits.
- Requiring suppliers to provide assurances and certifications.
- Utilizing third-party resources for risk assessments.
- Risk Mitigation: We will take appropriate steps to mitigate identified risks, which
may include:- Working with suppliers to improve their practices.
- Providing training and support to our employees and suppliers.
- Terminating relationships with suppliers who fail to meet our standards.
- Transparency: We will be transparent about our efforts to address modern slavery
and human trafficking. This may include:- Publishing this policy statement on our website.
- Reporting on our progress in our annual reports or sustainability reports.
- Employee Training: We will provide training to our employees to raise awareness
of modern slavery and human trafficking and to equip them to identify and report
potential concerns
- Whistleblowing Procedures: We will maintain confidential whistleblowing
procedures that enable employees and other stakeholders to report concerns
about modern slavery and human trafficking without fear of retaliation.
- Continuous Improvement: We are committed to continuous improvement in our efforts to combat modern slavery and human trafficking. We will regularly review
and update this policy and our related procedures to ensure they remain effective
Reporting Concerns
Any concerns about potential modern slavery or human trafficking within our operations or

Review
